Whether you’re a beginner to yoga or wanting to advance and deepen your practice, receive personalised sessions with individual feedback and hands-on guidance.

Beginners can avoid feeling overwhelmed by taking private lessons where the instructor shows each move personally to improve technique, alignment and boost inner confidence.  Flows can be broken down to concentrate on the building blocks of poses before building it back up for a beautiful flow.

Benefits of Yoga

The multitude of benefits that come with practising yoga can have a really positive impact on the body as well as nurturing psychological and emotional growth, the best part being it is accessible to everyone and in no way exclusive.

The abundance of benefits includes helping build muscle strength, promoting bone and joint health and boosting the immune system by disposing of any toxins in the body. The stretching involved in yoga not only helps with flexibility but increases the supply of blood and nutrients around the body, getting more oxygen to your cells, which function better as a result.

Improving how our bodies feel and function can certainly support our mental well-being. In addition to the many mental health benefits, yoga helps you develop inner strength. Tapas, the Sanskrit word for "heat," is the fire, the discipline that fuels yoga practice and that builds through regular practice. The tapas you develop can be extended from the mat to really help you make positive changes in your life.

When & Where?

Private lessons of up to two can be 60 or 75 minutes long and are tailored to focus on your personal goals. They can be as regularly as one a week, once a month or just a one off.

Classes are facilitated at your home, office or wherever and whenever is convenient for you.  I provide all yoga equipment for your private one to one sessions. However if you are planning to continue learning yoga, it is recommended that you invest in your own personal yoga mat, blocks and belt. I can recommend suppliers if required.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

A beautiful compliment to the Yang energies of a vinyasa power flow. By combining a deeply nourishing environment with a calming approach, Yin practice guides you towards inner stillness and encourages a natural process of healing. Postures are held for longer periods and supported by props such as bolsters and blankets to allow the focus to be on the opening of connective tissues. When practised regularly this will allow you to release tensions or stress in the body as well as the mind, enhance flexibility, recover from illness or injury, maintain the nervous system and to live more fully in the present moment.

RELAXATION MEDITATION

It’s so easy to become swept up in the seemingly relentless demands of a busy life. Meditation allows you to liberate yourself from the demands of the outside world.

It encourages you to relax, slow your breath and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This in turn is calming, restorative and improves the functioning of the nervous and endocrine system where hormones are produced and regulated. This helps cells to regenerate and repair and decreases anxiety to improve overall mood.

Powerful meditation techniques such as Yoga Nidra are used to focus on cultivating deep rest and relaxation to reduce stress and promote better health. Breathing practices (Pranayama) are significant in releasing chemicals which play a central role in suppressing the neural activity that leads to anxiety.
